I don't know how much more I can take

Back in December, we were told that we wouldn't be able to adopt a baby that I had been working with & been told that we would be able to adopt if anything happened to the mother. That was extremely devastating when the baby was given to someone else. Now, this past Sat, someone contacted me about her sister who is pregnant, due in 2 wks. She wanted to know if we were interested in adopting the baby. I talked w/Russ & of course we are interested. We sent her our profile and waited to hear back from her. Sunday I e-mailed her sister to make sure she had gotten the e-mail. She said she had. So, last night the sister contacts me again and says that she is going to meet w/an agency tomorrow and look at parent profiles today. I just kind of feel like I don't have any chance now for this baby either. She hasn't said no to us, but I'm just not holding out much hope. I'm just beginning to wonder if God just doesn't want us to have anymore kids. I mean we tried for 3 yrs to have a baby only to have miscarriages. Now, we've had the opportunity to have 2 babies and both have been taken away. I'm just not feeling very optimistic today.

Why does it have to be so expensive!

So, I found an agency that we were really interested in. They looked really good online. Of course their fees weren't listed so I request more information. I get their information in the mail. I look through all the info. Everything is looking good. Then I get to the fees...$25,000! What the heck! I just can't understand why it's so expensive. Oh well, on to the next agency...

I "think" we have a plan

What we think we're going to do is get our names placed on the foster care lists & then pursue an agency adoption of an infant as well. The home study for the foster system is free. I'm not sure what the stipulations are concerning the free home study, because I STILL haven't got a call from them. I'm going to call them back on Mon. But, if the free home study is county specific, then we'll just go ahead & pay for a home study to adopt from an agency. Russ is really wanting an infant & I'm really wanting a toddler, so we figured this would cover both bases. LOL

The adoption run around

I feel like that’s the game I’m playing right now. I called the Dept of Children’s Services this morning & spoke w/someone. As soon as I said adoption she said, well you’re going to have to call this number. So, I call that number & speak w/the person responsible for adoption & she says you are in X county right? I said no I’m in Y county. Oh then you need to call this number. I call the number & the phone message says if you want to speak w/children services, please hang up & call this number. So, I did that spoke to another person that said that she’d transfer me to her phone but that I’ll have to leave a vm & she would call me back when she got back in. So, I feel like I’ve been doing the run around this morning, but hopefully I’ll get a call back soon!

Jessica is only 4, she'll be 5 in 2 wks. About 6 mths ago, Jess broke the arm off a musical clown nick nack of mine. It wasn't a huge deal, but I know she felt bad about it. So, the other day, I'm sitting at my computer and she comes up to me & says mom I have a present for you. I said, ok what is it. Out comes my clown w/the arms back on. I noticed that there was pink around the arm. I said honey how did you get the arm to stay on there. She said mom, I know how much you like this so I used my pink lipstick to glue it back together. Of course it didn't stay on, but just the thought of her doing that for me just really warmed my heart. ;)
